Once again, I’ll be embarking on fun challenges this October.

The main challenge I’m participating in in Fyretober, which is like Inktober but all mediums and hosted by Fyrecon. They’ve put some wonderful prompts together, so I’m excited to write with them.

I’ll be posting them here first before sending them to my social media pages for SEO purposes, so expect a lot of extra blog posts this month.

Or I’ll just attach them to the bottom of this email. I haven’t decided yet.

Here’s the prompt for day 1, new neighbors!

Day 1: New Neighbors
Lights flickered behind the broken shutters. I pressed against my blinds---had someone broken into the abandoned house next door again? Yet, even if it was some vagabond or druggie, the lights shouldn't have worked. A scream followed by charged electricity cracked the window, and the neighborhood fell into darkness.

In the past I’ve also participated in Writetober, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to fully participate in both. But you may see me do of them throughout the month as well.

Lastly, I’m hoping to do gothnowrimo this month. It’s a small spinoff of NaNoWriMo, but focused on gothic fiction in October. I’ve had fun with it in the past, but the participants are dwindling each year. Hopefully I won’t be embarking on it on my own this year!

Anyway, that’s my writing plans for the month (including catching up and doing my usual Wednesday Words). Happy writing!

Keep it spooky!
