She’d Rather Be Anywhere Else: A Wednesday Words Flash Fiction
Students file into the stone classroom, their uniforms contorted into more fun styles much against the handbook. Jackets are missing, buttons undone, skirts and shorts too short, stockings conveniently forgotten, improper shoes. The afternoon sun is low beyond the small windows, and everyone is ready for the day’s final class to end.
The Point of the Steel Pen was Bent and Twisted: A Wednesday Words Flash Fiction
The shrill beep of the security alarm shattered the quiet of Elena’s office, mere moments before an explosion rocked through the walls and open door. Elena dove under her desk, coughing as dust and the heavy scent of burning rubber filled the air around her. The lights cut out just as the fire alarm began to repeat itself, the warm glow of a fire brightening.
2025 Wrap Up & 2026 Goals
I almost didn’t write this, as I didn’t feel like there was anything to post. I failed every creative goal I had this year, except for my Goodreads book goal. But it wasn’t a bad year. Just different than I had originally hoped.
For Some Unfathomable Reason: A Wednesday Words Flash Fiction

She’d Ruined My Life: A Wednesday Words Flash Fiction

A Bittersweet Ending
This past year, I developed and taught an online, specialty character creation course for high school students. 4 mini-courses of 4 classes each. It was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done but also the most magical. Each class was a blast and I loved working with the students.
If I’d Become A Musician: A Wednesday Words Flash Fiction
A weather-worn piano awaits in the center of overgrown portals, moss and vines obscuring the stone bases. My throat dries. No one had warned me music was the key to the portals, only constantly reminding me that I was the chosen one, that I was destined to travel the different planes to prevent the darkness from infesting every land.
2024 Wrap Up
This year was hard, and I didn’t achieve any of my personal goals. But there were a few amazing things to celebrate, and I’ve tried to spend some time focusing on them instead of mourning what I didn’t do.
