Here is the second story I wrote for the prompt on Wednesday, May 24, 2023.
I, Jeremy, sat stiff on a satin pillow as I licked my elegant paw. Every strand of black fur needed to be in place, sleek and soft, despite the sun’s heat.
My human’s chosen mate stood at the end of all the benches, smiling and chatting with an ugly person. Then his dog barked as another human brought him in.
Ugh. Today a lady was getting married. My lady, in fact. How dare the mutt make a scene.
First, the dog walked down the aisle, a child at his side tossing flower petals everywhere. Fools. They’re much better kept together in a box or inside, where we could roll in them.
The human behind me lifted my pillow, and I nearly fell off. I buckled then sneezed at the human’s failure. She was supposed to carry me and the stupid box to my human’s mate. But the ride was…unfortunately. I hissed and leaped down, walking was better than this service.
The human panicked as people snickered, and she tried to convince me to get back on the pillow.
Nope. Not doing it. I refused.
The human was almost crying, so I strutted down the aisle, pausing in the middle, and left my review of this silly event.
My turd glistened in the aisle, and I wished for sand, but there was none. So I simply brushed my feet and kept walking until I reached the stupid dog and his human.
Let the wedding begin.
