My unfamiliar fangs split through my gums as I wander—seeking relief—in an endless line of parked cars.

Distant music thrums through the air, speakers blasting and crackling. The opening of a new song, a promise of a moment to immortalize. The call is overwhelming, pumping through my veins. I recognize this feeling—home—and I fall into a trance as I move closer.

A voice whispers to me, but it’s buried beneath a guitar as it transitions.

My gums ache for a man at the venue gates, but the music pulls me forward into a throng of people spanning unending fields.

Sweaty bodies and pumping hearts surround me, a dance of blood and energy. I freeze as I revel in the motion. A mix of song and growls heightening the aromas of thousands of humans gathered to worship.

My gums ache, but my fangs retract. The urge to bite transforms, and I throw myself into the air. My particles swirl around each body at once, partaking in the frenzy of singing, cheers, and crying.

The song transforms, moving from the bridge into the last chorus, and the humans’ emotions explode. My every particle tingles, and I never want this to end.

The music, the crowd, the mix of energy and passion—it nourishes me more than any vein.

The voice chuckles in my mind. “Oops, I didn’t mean to give you an existential crisis on your first hunt.”

I need no apologies. Finally, I am one with music.

I didn't mean to give you an existential crisis
I didn't mean to give you an existential crisis
I didn't mean to give you an existential crisis
